Initial Setup & Onboarding
When you first join SuiteOp, a guided Setup wizard walks you through getting your properties into the platform. It has three stages — connect your property management system (PMS), review the groups Honey suggests, and set up check-in instructions — and ends on your home dashboard, where a Finish setting up checklist helps you take care of everything else.
You can leave the wizard at any time and pick up where you left off; a progress pill in the header tracks how many of the three stages you’ve completed.
Step 1: Connect your PMS
Section titled “Step 1: Connect your PMS”The first stage brings your properties into SuiteOp. Pick the system that runs your listings today — for example Guesty, Hostaway, OwnerRez, or an iCal feed — and connect it. One connection imports your properties, listings, reservations, and calendars in a single step.
-
Choose your PMS
Select your provider from the list. If Honey detected your PMS from your sales call, it’s already highlighted with a Detected chip.
-
Connect
Click Connect and follow the prompts for your provider (an API key, OAuth sign-in, or calendar-only sync, depending on the system).
-
Continue to grouping
Once the import finishes, you’ll see a confirmation that your properties, reservations, and calendars are in. Click Continue to grouping to move on.
Step 2: Review your property groups
Section titled “Step 2: Review your property groups”Groups control who on your team can see which properties — and they let you share one entry code, one guest portal, and one set of tasks across every property in the group. Honey suggests a grouping for you so you don’t have to build it by hand.
Honey analyzes your imported properties and proposes groups by building, then market (it can also group by market or by property type). Each suggested group shows how the grouping will be used, with badges like Shared entry code, Shared guest portal, and Task scope.
You can adjust the suggestion before accepting it:
- Rename any group.
- Move a property to a different group.
- Remove a property from grouping entirely.
When the grouping looks right, accept it to continue to check-in instructions.
Step 3: Set up check-in instructions
Section titled “Step 3: Set up check-in instructions”The final stage gets your check-in instructions ready. Instead of writing them from scratch, paste what you already have and let Honey format it into clean, guest-ready steps.
-
Paste your instructions
Drop your existing check-in notes — from your PMS, a listing site, or a document — into the text area.
-
Choose what they apply to
Pick the scope: a single property, selected properties, a whole group, or all properties at once. Applying to a group means the whole group inherits one set of instructions.
-
Format with Honey & apply
Click Format with Honey & apply. Honey turns your notes into numbered steps, which you can fine-tune and reorder in the step editor. Optional variables (like check-in time or door codes) fill in per property automatically.
-
Finish property setup
Once the instructions are applied, click Finish property setup.
Finish setting up
Section titled “Finish setting up”After the wizard, you land on your Home dashboard with a Finish setting up checklist pinned above your widgets. It tracks your progress and lists the next-best actions to get fully operational. The checklist appears while your organization is still getting set up and disappears once you’re done.
It’s organized into a few sections:
- Continue property setup — the three wizard stages (add properties, property groups, check-in instructions), so you can jump back into any you skipped.
- For you — to-dos Honey prioritized from your sales calls, surfaced first because they matter most for your account.
- More you can add — everything else worth setting up, each linking straight to the right page:
- Set up upsells (Folio → Upsells)
- Guest verification (Properties → Verification)
- Guest portal & branding (Portal)
- Turnover tasks & auto-assign (Tasks → Templates)
- Connect payments (Settings → Billing)
- Invite your team (Team → Members)
- Connect locks & devices (Properties → Devices)
- Automated messages (Workflows)
Work through the checklist at your own pace — each item is available whenever you want it.
